
“We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”.
The happiness I seek is not obtainable in prison and a second chance is a must for me in order to know liberty. I am not asking for sympathy but am pleading to the “people” for compassion and understanding; if you are reading this you are the afore mentioned “people”.
On November 14, 1996, a horrible crime took place that I am truly remorseful for. I deeply regret that I did not prevent it from occurring, or did not behave in a different manner, and am ever regretful for my actions on that day. I cannot change the past, but I know that I can change the format of my future. I have since matured greatly both mentally, physically and most definitely spiritually. I have successfully completed many college courses, classes, and programs in which I have earned diplomas and certifications. I have seized every opportunity to improve myself.
I was rail-roaded by a kangaroo court system. My 5th amendment rights were violated and aggressively ignored. I was a juvenile and I could not fight or speak for myself at such a critical time in my life. I was betrayed by someone who claimed to respect the rights of juveniles and by a defender of the constitution. I deserve a second chance but I must battle for my unalienable rights for liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
I am asking the people of this world to support my pursuit by donating just one dollar. All proceeds will be used to build an unstoppable legal defense team for myself, as well as the abolishment of the State’s ability to sentence juveniles to a living death sentence called “life without parole”. The Pursuit of Happiness
My name is Dheaslee Wright and I have been serving life without parole since the age of 16. Whether it’s believable or not, that is a very hard thing to do, and it’s even more devastating when one has a desire to be happy. In my opinion happiness in prison is equivalent to a human being been struck by lightning, meaning there is about one in a billion chance of it ever happening. However, my purpose for existing is to be happy, or to be in the pursuit of happiness. I know it is not justice, me being made to suffer until my dying day for something I did as a child. It is my right, as a United States Citizen, and a human, to be able to pursue happiness and that is why I am asking the world for assistance in gaining a second chance as my happiness will never be found in prison.
On July 4 1776, the Declaration of Independence was adapted by the Continental Congress in Philadelphia. In that declaration it is stated that:
