My name is Paul Curtis Pemberton and I am from New Mexico. I have been wrongly convicted here in Oklahoma of murder in McIntosh County, District Court Eufaula, OK 74432 on 12/15/2004.
The crime was committed by my dad and he blamed me because I had a criminal history and his nephew was a Deputy Patrol Officer for the Sheriff’s department. My dad was also friends with the Sheriff who lived one section mile over from my dad’s house and the scene of the murder.
The crime occurred on the 04/04/2004 in a very small community where all of my dad’s immediate family were well known, a few were actually police officers themselves and aided and abetted in this wrongful conviction. These people all came together and invented a story that got me convicted of a crime I did not commit. I endeavored to tell the Sheriff that it was my dad that committed this atrocity, only to be told that if I said that again he would ensure that I got the death penalty; I complied with the Sheriff and only barely escaped death row.
I had drank the equivalent of a 12-pack of beer before all this took place and my thoughts were not the best for decision making. I was scared and tried to do what I could to show I did not commit this crime.
Over the last few years I have been able to put together a petition for the courts that shows that I am innocent of these charges and that my dad and his neighbor were responsible for the murder and the destruction of physical evidence. There was DNA blood evidence on my dad’s clothes, and on his friends too, but the Sheriff’s office shrugged their shoulders as they did not care.
I am in desperate need of any kind of financial donations, legal assistance, or anything that you feel may help me in presenting my case to the courts through viable counsel. The Oklahoma judicial system is corrupt and they have been proven many times to protect someone they know.
I need an attorney to file my paperwork because of the corruption in the prison system here in Oklahoma too. The prison staff ensure deadlines are missed by any means possible.
There is hope for me as I have solid proof that I am innocent of all these charges. I refuse to allow my story to go untold. There have been several people proven innocent in Oklahoma due to malicious prosecutors.
